What I’m About
Leave People Better than You Find Them. This is my passion. To that end I have expended a great deal of energy learning various coaching models, communications techniques, many hours with my coach, and practice, practice, practice.
In today’s world having the technical skills is not enough, these can be learned relatively easily. It’s the people skill that ultimately determine collaboration, co-creation and results. One of my favorite phrases is “Take care of the people and the people will take care of the work”.
There is always a solution. I’ve often found myself faced with a task that required a special tool or a special part. These are opportunities to be creative and ingenious when looking for solutions. Sometimes it’s making a new tool or developing a new approach. This is true for projects as well; I enjoy finding creative and successful ways to motivate people so that they want to complete all tasks and projects. One of my three professional tools is Crucial Conversations. A key aspect of this tool is the concept of “Meaning in the Pool” which refers to finding the best solution through input from many. I seek the best solution from the team and often the idea isn’t mine.
